North Carolina Housing Finance Agency Program

One of the biggest challenges facing homebuyers is having enough money for down payment and closing costs. Northpointe Bank offers several programs that can help. As a participating lender with the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency, qualified borrowers could receive down payment assistance of up to $15,000 or 3% of the loan amount depending on the program. Buying a home may be more achievable than you think.


Programs and features:
  • NC 1st Home Advantage Down Payment offers up to $15,000* in down payment and closing cost assistance for eligible first-time homebuyers or military veterans buying in certain locations
  • NC Home Advantage MortgageTM offers up to 3%* of the loan amount in down payment and closing cost assistance for eligible first-time and repeat homebuyers for the purchase of new or existing properties
  • Income limits and purchase price limits apply

*NC First Home Advantage Down Payment and NC Home Advantage MortgageTM are 15-year deferred/forgiven second mortgage loans with a 0% interest rate, deferred for the first 10 years, and forgiven by 20% each year at the end of years 11 through 15. After 15 years, the loan is fully forgiven. If the home is sold or refinanced before year 15, borrower must repay any portion not yet forgiven.
