Jason Smith has worked in banking since 2005 and is an expert in VA, FHA, and conventional financing. His favorite part of his job is helping people and their families with purchasing and refinancing homes to better improve their financial situation. Jason has a degree in Finance from Western Michigan University and has been recognized in the Scotsman Guide as a top originator every year since 2017. He has also received a Northpointe Bank Top Performer award every year since he joined Northpointe. Jason is also involved with Creston Rod and Gun and Egypt Valley Golf and Country Club. In his free time, Jason enjoys golf, fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors with his family. Jason has this down to an art. The process from start to finish runs like a Swiss watch. He patiently dealt with and answered a litanty of questions I had come up throughout the process. We purchased our home roughly six months ago and are still working through "moving fatigue", so entering the refinance process wasn't excactly an "exciting" prospect, but we couldn't pass up the improvements in the rate market. Jason made every single step of this process clear, accessisble, and as painless as possible. His responses to any questions were always complete, yet direct and to the point. He was personable and easy to work with during our call. From the perspective of a home ownwer in their late 30's, Jason has to be an essential asset for Northpointe to the extent many or most of the "20's to late 30's" crowd is generally more comfortable communicating through e-mail/text than persistent phone calls. Jason serves this demographic flawlessly and I can only imagine professionals like him will continue to be a more critical asset as we continue to exist in the post-covid world where many people have gotten more comfortable engaging remotely (and also more interested in engaging lenders remotely rather than insiting on a brick and mortar, local option). Jason never wasted my time in any way, which I cannot overstate how important that is as a customer who recently moved. Jason beat three, competing lenders who were all contacted simultaneously by one full day in "actual" response time. I had only received generic automatic replies from the other lenders by the time Jason had already tendered a provisional rate offer. I have already made three referrals to Northpointe Bank, and specifically Jason Smith, and we only closed a week ago. No other lender was able to compete with the rate, fees, and overall experience. I will be a walking billboard for Northpointe going forward based on my overall experience.
