Richard Schafer has worked in banking for over 19 years as a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist and has been recognized several times as a top producer. His favorite part about his job is the closing day. Sitting across the table after the last document is signed and seeing the big smiles on my clients' faces when they realize that they are now homeowners.
Richard provides a consultative approach to mortgage banking. He likes to get to know his clients and their needs. He often gains clients simply because their previous experience was "rushed" or too impersonal. It may be cliché but it is also true, for the vast majority of Americans, buying a home will be the largest purchase/investment of a lifetime. He likes to be sure to get it right the first time. The road is not always smooth given the intense regulatory environment since The Great Recession. But his clients understand and appreciate that he will guide them through just as he has each and every one of them since 1999.
Richard has been a Corporate Leadership Council member of the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce and a Chamber Ambassador since 2014. The Ambassadors or "A-Team" is a group of Chamber members who volunteer extra time to attend networking events and ribbon cuttings for new member businesses who are an extension of Chamber staff. Richard is also proud to be a past Chairman of the A-Team. He participates in a Thursday morning networking group and is a member of the Public Policy and Business Development Advisory Councils. He is a stockholding member of Rolling Hills Country Club, has served on RHCC's board of Directors since 2015 as a board member, 2nd Vice President and 1st Vice President. Richard is also Chair both the Membership and Social Committees
During his free time, Richard enjoys playing golf, spending time with his family, and watching as much football as possible during the NFL season.
